Once upon a time, a large group of pigeons lived together in a forest. They shared a strong bond of friendship and always stayed united. Every morning, they would fly out together to gather grains and return to their nest by evening. One day, a hunter passed through the forest and noticed the flock of pigeons. Seeing them, he thought to himself: “This is a good opportunity. If I can catch these pigeons, I can sell them in the market and earn a lot of money. Tomorrow I will set a trap here.” The pigeons knew nothing about the hunter’s plan. The next day, as usual, they flew out to search for food. After flying a short distance, they saw many grains scattered on the ground. The pigeons were excited to see so much food. However, an old and wise pigeon in the group warned them. “There are no farms nearby, so how could so many grains appear here? This might be a trap. We should be careful.” But the other pigeons ignored his warning. “Why would there be a trap here? We should not miss this chance to get so much food,” they said. They quickly flew down and began pecking the grains. Suddenly, they realized something was wrong. A net had been spread on the ground, and they were trapped inside it. No matter how hard they tried, they could not escape. The hunter, who had been hiding nearby, was very happy to see that so many pigeons were trapped together. He went to get a cage to collect them. Meanwhile, the old pigeon who was sitting on a nearby branch flew down to the trapped pigeons. The pigeons cried and said: “We should have listened to you. Please forgive us and tell us how we can escape before the hunter returns.” The wise pigeon replied: “Stop trying to escape individually. Instead, all of you must try to fly together with all your strength. If you do that, the net will lift along with you.” The pigeons followed his advice. They flapped their wings together with full strength and managed to lift the net into the air. The hunter was shocked when he saw the pigeons flying away with the net. The pigeons then flew to the hole of their friend, a mouse. The mouse quickly used its sharp teeth to cut the net and freed all the pigeons. The pigeons thanked both the mouse and the wise old pigeon for helping them. The old pigeon then said: “My friends, when we work together with unity, even the biggest problems can be solved.” After that, the pigeons continued to live happily together in the forest.

ഒരുകാലത്ത് ഒരു വലിയ കാട്ടിൽ നിരവധി പ്രാവുകൾ ഒരുമിച്ചു താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു. അവർ എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും ഐക്യത്തോടെയും സൗഹൃദത്തോടെയും ജീവിച്ചു. ഓരോ രാവിലും അവർ കൂട്ടമായി പറന്ന് പുറത്തേക്ക് പോകുകയും ധാന്യങ്ങൾ ശേഖരിച്ച് വൈകുന്നേരത്തോടെ വീണ്ടും അവരുടെ കൂടിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഒരു ദിവസം ആ കാട്ടിലൂടെ കടന്നുപോയ ഒരു വേട്ടക്കാരൻ ഈ പ്രാവുകളെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു. അവരെ കണ്ടതോടെ അവൻ ചിന്തിച്ചു: “ഇവിടെ ഒരു വലിയ പ്രാവുകളുടെ കൂട്ടമുണ്ട്. ഇവരെ പിടിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ ചന്തയിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി വിറ്റാൽ നല്ല പണം ലഭിക്കും. നാളെ ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ ഒരു കെണി വെച്ച് ഇവരെ പിടിക്കണം.” ഇതൊന്നും അറിയാതെ അടുത്ത ദിവസം പതിവുപോലെ പ്രാവുകൾ ധാന്യം ശേഖരിക്കാൻ പറന്നു. കുറച്ചു ദൂരം പോയപ്പോൾ അവർ നിലത്തു വളരെ ധാന്യമണികൾ കിടക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ടു. അത് കണ്ടതോടെ അവർക്കെല്ലാം സന്തോഷമായി. അപ്പോൾ കൂട്ടത്തിലെ ഒരു പ്രായമായ പ്രാവ് പറഞ്ഞു: “ഇവിടെ എവിടെയും പാടം ഇല്ലല്ലോ. എന്നാൽ ഇത്രയും ധാന്യം ഇവിടെ എങ്ങനെ എത്തി? ഇത് ഒരു കെണിയായിരിക്കാം. അതുകൊണ്ട് നമുക്ക് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാം.” എന്നാൽ മറ്റു പ്രാവുകൾ അവന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടില്ല. “ഇത്രയും ധാന്യം കിട്ടുമ്പോൾ അത് വിട്ടുകളയാൻ പറ്റില്ല. നമുക്ക് പോയി എടുത്തു വരാം,” എന്ന് അവർ പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ എല്ലാം താഴേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങി ധാന്യം കൊത്തിത്തുടങ്ങി. എന്നാൽ കുറച്ചു നേരത്തിനകം അവർക്ക് മനസ്സിലായി — അവിടെയൊക്കെ ഒരു വല വിരിച്ചിരുന്നതായിരുന്നു. അവർ പറക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചെങ്കിലും വലയിൽ കുടുങ്ങിയതിനാൽ കഴിയാതെപോയി. ഇതെല്ലാം കണ്ട വേട്ടക്കാരൻ വളരെ സന്തോഷിച്ചു. അവൻ പ്രാവുകളെ പിടിക്കാൻ കൂട് എടുക്കാൻ പോയി. ഈ സമയം മരക്കൊമ്പിൽ ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന പ്രായമായ പ്രാവ് ഉടൻ അവരടുത്തേക്ക് എത്തി. മറ്റു പ്രാവുകൾ കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടില്ല. ദയവായി ഞങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള ഒരു മാർഗം പറഞ്ഞുതരൂ.” പ്രായമായ പ്രാവ് പറഞ്ഞു: “നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തരും വേറെ വേറെ ശ്രമിക്കാതെ, എല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ചു ശക്തിയായി പറക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കൂ. അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താൽ വലയും കൂടെ ഉയർത്തി പറക്കാൻ സാധിക്കും.” അവർ എല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ചു ശക്തിയായി പറന്നു. അതോടെ വലയും കൂടെ ഉയർന്നു. ഇത് കണ്ട വേട്ടക്കാരൻ അത്ഭുതപ്പെട്ടു. അതിനുശേഷം പ്രാവുകൾ വലയും കൊണ്ടു ഒരു എലിയുടെ മാളത്തിലേക്ക് പോയി. ആ എലി അവരുടെ സുഹൃത്തായിരുന്നു. എലി തന്റെ മൂർച്ചയുള്ള പല്ലുകൾ കൊണ്ട് വല മുറിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ എല്ലാ പ്രാവുകളും സ്വതന്ത്രരായി. പ്രാവുകൾ എലിയോടും പ്രായമായ പ്രാവിനോടും നന്ദി പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ പ്രായമായ പ്രാവ് പറഞ്ഞു: “സുഹൃത്തുക്കളേ, ഐക്യത്തോടെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചാൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളും നമ്മുക്ക് മറികടക്കാൻ കഴിയും.” അതിനു ശേഷം പ്രാവുകൾ വീണ്ടും സന്തോഷത്തോടെ ആ കാട്ടിൽ ജീവിച്ചു.
