Story
A long, long time ago, the Sun and the Sea were the best of friends. During those ancient times, the Sun and his younger brother, the Moon, lived on the Earth. Because they were neighbors, the Sun would often visit the Sea's vast, watery home and they would spend many happy hours together.
One day, the Sun asked the Sea, "My friend, I always come to your place. Why have you never visited my home?"
The Sea smiled gently and replied, "Dear Sun, my home is huge and open. You are always welcome here. But if I were to visit you, I would need a very large space. Remember, I am not alone. Countless creatures live within me, and they would all have to come along too."
The Sun, feeling confident, said, "That's no problem at all! My brother and I have plenty of room. Just give us one day to prepare for your arrival."
The Sea agreed, but gave a word of caution: "I will come, my friend. But if you cannot hold all of me, you might lose your home. Please be sure."
The Sun rushed home excitedly. He and the Moon worked hard, clearing their yard and making their home as big as possible to welcome their friend. On the agreed day, the Sea began to flow into the Sun's dwelling. At first, everything was fine. But soon, the water began to rise, filling every corner.
The Sea became worried. "Friend, there isn't enough space! Should I go back?"
But the Sun, being a generous host, insisted. "No, no! Come all the way in!"
The Sea continued to flow. Soon, the water was so high that the Sun and the Moon had no place to stand and were lifted high above their own home. The Sea was very upset. He was now unable to return to his own place.
Just then, the Sun remembered another good friend. He looked up and called to the Sky. "Dear Sky, my brother and I need a place to stay. Can you give us shelter?"
The vast and kind Sky happily opened his endless arms to them. And so, the Sun and the Moon left the Earth and went to live in the sky. But even today, the Sun misses his old friend. Every morning, he rises and comes to the edge of the earth, just to greet the Sea.
Moral: Even with love and friendship, one must respect boundaries. Being overconfident or ignoring limitations can sometimes cost you what you already have.
