Story
Once there were two mice who were very good friends. One of them lived in a peaceful village, while the other lived in a busy city. Even though they lived in different places, they always stayed in touch and shared stories about their lives.
One day, the village mouse invited his friend from the city to visit him. The city mouse happily accepted the invitation and traveled to the village to spend a few days there.
The village mouse lived inside a hollow tree. He proudly showed his friend the beauty of the village โ the green fields, flowing river, and the calm surroundings. The city mouse found the scenery interesting, but he was not very impressed.
That night, the village mouse served some grains and roots for dinner. The city mouse looked at the food and said,
โMy friend, is this all you eat here? In the city we have much tastier food.โ
The village mouse smiled and replied,
โThis is what we have here, and I enjoy it. But I would love to see what life in the city is like.โ
The city mouse then said,
โThen you should come with me tomorrow. I will show you the city.โ
The next day, they both traveled to the city. When they arrived, the village mouse was surprised by the noise of vehicles and the crowded streets. The city mouse lived near the roof of a large house.
When night came, the city lights lit up everywhere, making the city look bright and lively. The village mouse admired the beautiful view.
Later, they went inside the house to find food. There were pieces of bread and cheese available. However, the village mouse did not enjoy the taste very much.
While they were eating, they suddenly heard a noise. The city mouse whispered nervously,
โQuick! Hide somewhere. That might be the house cat.โ
Both of them quickly ran and hid. After some time, the cat left.
The village mouse then said,
โMy friend, the food here may be better, but life is full of danger. In the village, I can live peacefully without fear.โ
The city mouse replied with a smile,
โI understand, but I enjoy city life. There are many comforts here.โ
The village mouse nodded and said,
โEveryone is happy in their own way of life. But our friendship will always remain the same.โ
Soon after, the village mouse returned to his peaceful village, and the two friends continued their friendship despite living far apart.
